Each year, officers from the San Bernardino Police Department take on one of the most grueling and prestigious law enforcement endurance events in the world: the Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay.

This 120-mile, non-stop footrace through the Mojave Desert brings together law enforcement agencies from around the globe in a powerful display of teamwork, resilience, and pride. For our officers, it’s more than just a race—it’s a tradition that strengthens morale, fosters unity, and highlights the physical and mental toughness it takes to serve and protect.

But competing in Baker to Vegas—and supporting our department’s running team year-round—comes at a cost.

That’s where the San Bernardino Police Foundation and our generous community come in.

This effort is 100% officer-driven and not funded by department budgets—which means it relies entirely on sponsorships and community donations.
