Behind every great officer is a spark that started somewhere—a moment, a mentor, or a mission that inspired a lifelong commitment to service. For many in San Bernardino, that journey begins with the Police Explorers Program.
The San Bernardino Police Explorers Unit is a youth mentorship and leadership program designed for young people ages 14 to 21 who are interested in law enforcement careers. These future leaders commit their time to learning police procedures, volunteering at community events, participating in ride-alongs, and training in real-world scenarios.
They don’t just watch from the sidelines—they show up, suit up, and serve their city.
